So this was a travel day, returning with exactly the same process in reverse, from the jungle.
We had a good breakfast, while it rained lightly, then walked to the boat and took it downstream for an hour, watching the other river traffic. The river is obviously very low at the moment, but normally could be four or more metres higher up the bank after rain.
We then took the mini bus again to the airport and arrived early. The flights were with LATAM who are part owned by QANTAS and Delta, and are efficient and have new planes. The airport was slow, but we tried to get electronic tickets by joining LATAM as Frequent Flyers but it still took ages to get through the checks. Willy was looking after us on this segment as JC was back in Cusco trying to get Jeff through his medical checks, for which detais are sketchy but prostrate problems are part of the deal. Anyway, by the time we return he is feeling better from two days rest.
While we wait at the airport it pours with rain. Luckily I have my jacket with me, but most done, and everyone walks across the airport and gets very wet, which makes seating a little different from normal.
Back in Cusco we do some more shopping for Alpaca stuff, and have dinner together at the hotel. The pork has been very good in South America. Tomorrow we start early for Aguas Caliente and Maccu Picchu.
